About Me

Dr. Shuoyao Wang received the B.Eng. (with first honor) and Ph.D. degrees in information
engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2013 and 2018,
respectively. From 2018 to 2020, he was a Senior Researcher with Tencent, China. Since 2020, he
has been with the College of Electronic and Information Engineering, Shenzhen University,
China, where he is currently a tenured Associate Professor. His research interests mainly involve
integrated machine learning and optimization in networked systems, such as video streaming,
video analytics, and semantic communications. He has published more than 30 technical papers at top
conferences and journals. He is currently on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Mobile
Computing and IEEE Open Journal of Communication Society.
